On Sunday, Aug. 21 from 6 a.m. until approximately noon, a short but major network outage is planned. The impact is similar to the network outage at the end of June and will impact all TRU locations (Kamloops, Williams Lake and Regional Centres).
This is the only planned outage this weekend. The previously announced Banner and/or Oracle service outage has been delayed until Aug. 27. Details on this outage will be shared in a separate announcement.
Please save and shut down your systems at the end of this week.
All TRU networks (fixed and wireless) will be unavailable, campuses will have no internet access (including student residences), the website will be unavailable and all web-based services will be down. This includes phones and systems that require you to login (e.g. Moodle, OLFM portal, VPN, online registration, self-serve functions in MyTRU, Banner and Office365), even when accessing remotely.
You may find if you try that some services will work during this window; however, please expect the disruption to continue until noon. The first priority during this maintenance is to minimize disruption to students and bring everything else online as soon as possible.
