IT Services does not recommend Mac users upgrade to the latest operating system for Mac, OS X El Capitan, until issues with Microsoft Office are resolved. Once the issues are resolved, an upgrade request should be made through the IT Service Desk to allow a technician to assist with a full backup prior to install.
Microsoft Office users have reported serious bugs when using the software after upgrading to the newest Mac upgrade OS X El Capitan released last week. A wide variety of problems have been reported for users of Office 2016 and there are problems with Outlook and Office 2011. Read more at macrumors.com
